The shell of a forgotten Paper Mill.

Fredriksberg paper mill in Sweden is a huge place. Access was easy but some levels needed a few ninja skills. The first hall we entered was tall and immense and the floor was covered in grass. I had to step carefully so I didn’t step through many of the openings and holes and fell down to the concrete level below. The place had been secured and all ladders and entryways to the top of this room were removed.

In the 1950s the problems started here and they couldn’t compete with other factories both in Sweden and abroad. 150 employees had to go when the factory closed its doors in 1972.

The rest of the factory was empty and had suffered from both vandalism and graffiti artists. Some floors had an amazing green cover of moss. We didn’t have much time here so we quickly walked through most of the factory and then drove off. I was happy to finally have explored one of Sweden’s most famous urban exploring sites.
